Really cool website. I really like the 3/18/08 log entry. we had a camp in inglesby and I even think you took a picture of it in your link to more pics. our camp was the 2nd to last one at the end of inglesby rd. we were right at the turn off to go down to penns creek and park. we spent many weekends up there up until the early 80’s. I remember when the trains used to run on the tracks there until hurricane agnes wiped out the bridge going to poe paddy park. never saw the tunnel on the poe paddy side but we used to walk the tracks to coburn and go through the tunnel to get into town.

Just to let you know there was a certified Vespa service center in Orem Ut. It’s at the Barber Brothers dealership on University Ave. and also Vespa Scooters in Salt Lake City.

Also scooterworks.com has parts for a vespa.

Im a basic scooter commuter mine is a Lx150 in excalibur grey. I love your site and when i decide to upgrade my scooter i’ll definitely will be using your site as a resource.

Hey! I had a good time in OKC. And it would be a good town to go car-less. Very cool. I’m envious.

As for the website, you might find someone on modernvespa.com. There’s lots of folks there, most of them are commuters, but there are a few long distance riders.

Hi Eric,

I am from Oklahoma City and I am really enjoying your website. A few months ago I sold my car and bought a Vespa GT200. I have really enjoyed taking a few camping trips, but I would love to take a long trip some day. I think it would be awsome to go with several people that had scooters. Do you know of a scooter website, with people that would like to do something like that?

You should be able to make it from one station to the next. I did US 50 from Sacramento into Utah and really didn’t need extra gas - just remember to fuel up whenever you see a gas station.

And you should be pretty ok going from SD to BC as far as gas goes. But you can always carry extra if you’re worried.

Let me know if you do this and when. Will you be blogging about it or any such thing?

I am thinking about a vertical trip from San diego to Vancouver BC. I have a Vespa ET4 (150cc). I would like to avoid highways throughout the trip and I have a couple of questions for you. Can you avoid highways for the entirety of such a trip and what about gas as these scooters dont hold a lot and can they really make it from one station to the next?

hey eric, good to finally meet you…here is some info for sunday…

“There is a ride this sunday.
Meet @ 10 am Frontier. Park your bike on the South side of Saggeio’s.
Ride leaves @ 11am to the Zoo after ride.”

Frontier is on Central (route 66!) and Stanford i think….right across from the University of New Mexico…

coming from bernallio…ride south and then turn left on central and head towards the mountain…it will be a couple of lights past university
