About?




I've alwasy been interested in the early vinyl recordings that Srila Prabhupada and the devotees did. I, however, didn't realize how many records were released. Most people know of The Radha Krishna Temple, produced by George Harrison. Some remember "The Happenings" LP that Srila Prabhupada recorded. Everything else is pretty much forgotten.

Though this site is probably incomplete, I've tried my best to catalog the vinyl recordings that ISKCON devotees did throughout the late 60's and 70's. Everything listed on this page is in my collection.

As a rule, I'm trying to stick to the more traditional bhajan and kirtan recordings. Releases like "Change of Heart," the Michael Cassidy recordings and the Hansadutta records wouldn't make it into the list. Though, for the sake of completness, maybe someday they will.

Because there is no way to be sure if I have "everything," I'm hoping that devotees will come out of the woodwork and give me a heads up on some of the pieces that I've missed. Contact me at: eric "at" littleblackstar "dot" com.

Oh, and apologies for the look of this site. I know it's not pretty. I'm just throwing it together quickly so that I can keep track of what's what.
