Odd dreams lately. Very odd.

I’m not sure how this is really possible, but for the past few nights I’ve been having dreams of narration. Nothing has really happened in them and they don’t even seem to include visuals. The dreams are just long stretches of me talking about whatever it is that I’m doing, but without actually seeing it.

It’s like being on an all night phone conversation with me. Except you don’t get to talk. All you do is listen to me tell you what I’m doing. Except not, because I’m not actually doing anything.

The dreams have bugged me because it feels like I’m actually awake. In the dream, I’m lying in bed, trying to get to sleep, but can’t because of the narration.

Maybe it’s not even my voice, it’s hard to remember. But it is narration.

Maybe it’s because of the audio books I’ve been listening to. Honestly, that’s probably it.

I’ve had other dreams as well, though I can’t remember them fully. Last night’s involved an overflowing toilet that kept breaking. That probably had to do with an episode of Wreckreation Nation that was about strapping skis to barstools and sledding down a hill. A couple of guys thought it would be neat to do the same to a toilet. Nifty! Halfway down the hill, their toilet broke. Apparently that left a lasting impression upon my subconscious. Neat show, by the way. You should see it.

Because of all of this, I’ve been sleeping longer. I hate sleep. A lot. I don’t like anything about sleep. I like to be awake, doing fun things (or even unfun things). Sleep puts a stop to fun and takes a HUGE chunk out of my day. If I could only get away with sleeping four hours a night, or even less, I’d be thrilled.

But no, I have to sleep and lately that means stupid dreams without visuals and then dreams about toilets. They say that you can go crazy from lack of sleep. I’d like to give it a try. Lately, I’m going crazy because of sleep. So maybe with less sleep, I’d have less time for wacky narration dreams and more time for whatever it is I’d rather be doing.
