When we come through in Caddies on Swangaz and Vogues

My last name isn’t really a very popular one. It’s not Smith or Jones or Williams or anything like that. Swanger is a German name that, in its original form, means “pregnant” (with a bit of a lean towards illegitimacy).

swangersApparently it is also a brand of chrome 30-spoke rims made in the early 80s for Cadillacs. I don’t know much about them, of course. But the title of this post comes from Paul Wall who was (is?) a rapper from Texas who is probably most famous for the simple elegance of:

“What it do? It’s Paul Wall, I’m the people’s champ, My chain light up like a lamp cause now I’m back with the camp.”

Brilliance.

Anyway, I just thought I’d let you know about the rims and such. Pretty interesting, I guess. Or maybe not. If you have a Cadillac, maybe you might what to think about getting yourself a sweet set of Swangers (or “Swangaz” as the boyz and I like to say). They are shiny and poke out a good 6 or 7″s. That’s really important in Mad Max type driving situations.
