High Tide at Carkeek

I’ve found that I spend a lot of time at Carkeek Park along Puget Sound in northern Seattle. I’m not the only one, of course, tons of folks go there.

I like it best towards evening, when the high tide is rolling in.

Smartz and I nearly got stranded on a narrow stretch of beach that was quickly swallowed up by the salt water.

Shortly after, we saw a strange man with a hand-truck walking down the beach. He met up with a couple of friends.

Together they filled three trash bags with seaweed.

As the sun is setting, the light cast upon the water turns all sorts of purples and reds. The waves often kick up, sometimes to the size of Atlantic Ocean waves.

But last night they were small and splashy.
