Thanks everybody!

I usually don’t get Christmas cards. Sure, I’ll get one from my parents and from a friend or two, but usually, it’s not much. This year, however, I feel very remembered!

Tom Servo got all the cards this year!

A lot of people don’t like Christmas cards, and I guess I can understand that. They’re awkward, for one, I mean, you never really know what to say. You don’t want to get too long-winded or else it’s kind of weird, but you don’t want to just sign your name, because that’s sort of cold.

Because of these, most folks don’t send cards. But maybe that’s changing. This year I got more cards than I ever have. Hell, maybe even more cards than all the years combined (ok, maybe that’s pushing it).

Thanks to everyone who sent one, believe me, it was very appreciated. You made this cold and oddly snowy Seattle a much sunnier place.

Were all those cards for Servo, or did he steal them? (-:

I had to tell them they were for him, otherwise, Servo would chase me and I’d run panicked over logs and through streams, you know, maddened with primal terror, you know, and I’d turn and rake my deadly claws against his howling snout, you know, and I’d rise to my hind feet, towering, and still bellowing he’d come, and I’d mewl and spew gore from my wounds and snot from my flaring wild maw and… and… and we’d be locked like lovers and, and, and, and I would be encircled by spotted hound bodies and my entrails would be hanging out and I’d try a savage feral roar but, alas, my force would be spent and I’d die.

And then Servo would take it too far…

Oh and PS – did you tell Dwija about the Sparks song from yesterday?

He was having technical difficulties, slow connection. But he knows it’s there, and I’m sure he’ll try again.

It’s all he can think about. He didn’t get any sleep last night. Well.. only an hour or so, but he cried himself to sleep, so he woke up all red-eyed and blurry.

I could have swapped you, Christmas was 33C and sunny for me. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Christmas lights on a Eucalyptus tree.

Did you take a picture? Cause I’m wanting to live, baby!

Unfortunately I’ve been without a camera for the truly odd stuff. Like the VW bus, same vintage as yours, with a full brush guard, or as the natives call them, ‘roo bars. Then I saw a Daihatsu micro van that had the ‘roo bar plus a 4WD lift kit and a winch. Australia is like what would happen if you took all the weird people in America and put them on an island that could only be inhabited on the coasts.

It’s nice seeing my card in the mix. I think that Christmas cards are becoming a thing of the past. I only got two this year! I still like sending and receiving them though. Call me old fashioned…
