The Imperial Storm Scooter is back!

It may be a little short for a storm trooper, but, dear readers, Whitey is back!

When last you saw this machine, it was hopelessly abandoned. I got in over my head with the last engine and really didn’t have the know-how or in-person help to fix it. It was also too loud for my taste.

After some planning, some thinking and some money, it’s ready to roll!

Whitey has a new Piaggio P200 engine and a new Sito+ pipe (painted red!). Also, a tachometer and a new pair of shoes!

Last night, my pop and I installed the new engine and much to my surprise it started up! I’m basically over joyed and beat. This past week, I’ve devoted many, many hours to getting it ready for the new heart. I pulled the tank, cut some wire, reran some wire, did a few things to the new engine and a few more things to the scooter.

Now I await a new main jet and the ambition to adjust the rear brakes and we’re ready to hit the road. Well, there is the question of legality. Since I’m only here on this coast for another couple or three weeks, I don’t see the point in re-registering it and getting it inspected. I’ll ride it around town a bit and take it down to the “Tech School” parking lot to see if there are any other adjustments I’ll have to make.

This is the scooter that I’ll be taking to Seattle. The red Vespa GTS will stay here awaiting my return or whatever.

Woo!!

Are they waiting down at the parking lot of the 7 Eleven store? I’m glad I’m not in Lewisburg either. But unlike all those folks who vowed to leave the country upon “Four more years” back in ‘04, I actually did. It’s unfortunate, but the only “news” I get is the U.S. election. 3 Typhoons have nearly hit me, the one even caused some death and chaos in the north, but nothing on the supposedly “World” or “Asia” news. I do not lie, when I say I can’t get an accurate weather forecast.

I bet if you just took the plates of the one and threw them on the other no one would be the wiser. . .

Peace.

…unless he gets stopped by the fuzz. In which case it would be better to have no plates as driving with illegally attached plates is an arrestable offense (at least in the state of Maine, don’t ask me how I know)

but regardless, I do think a storm-trooper helmet is in order.
Nice work, Eric.
