Hey! I remember YOU! How’s it goin’?

I just got an email from the fellow who bought my bus (Tony)! It’s got pics! Honestly, I was a bit skeptical before looking at them. When he bought it, he told me that he planned on ripping out the interior and redoing it.

Originally (well, when I had her), the bus had really nice marine-grade stained wood panels. It looked sharp as hell. But what he did looks great (though I do still like the panels from when I had it).

Anyway, he did an amazing job and I’m really impressed and happy that he has her now.

This is what he wrote:

Bus is running good. I did have 1 mis-happ with her. I got married on the 4th of July and on my way to pickup my Wife the Brakes went out. I blew through a red light and luckily it was early in the morning and not a busy intersection. I think the bus was jealous of me getting married. Turns out the right rear wheel cylinder broke. It cracked the housing right at the mounting tab.

I had plans to go on my Honeymoon on the 6th of July with the bus. It was freaking out how I was going to get parts on a Holiday/Holiday weekend. After several hours of calling around I found the parts over at JC Whitney which is about 100 miles away. Their retail store, believe it or not was open on the 4th July weekend. I drove out there got the parts and fixed her. I went to Niagra Falls and traveled up through Canada on the way home. Was like 500 miles there and 500 back but did 1,500 total with no problems. Kept an Eye oil level and only burnt slightly over a 1/2 quart. I wound up redoing the inside also in the bus.

I was a bit nervous when I saw this pic. This one too!

I got a New windshield installed (slightly green tinted). Installed the door seals, window scrapers (what a PITA), master cylinder and othe odds and ends. Also have a dorm fridge hooked up to a dual battery setup in the bus. Installed an 800w inverter to power it all. I got a mini george foreman grill along with that coleman stove I keep under the seat. George foreman works out great cause its so quik to cook with and easy to clean. Bus is in good hands. I use her as my daily driver when I dont drive my Helix. She’ll get parked in the winter because of salt.

But she looks great! Even redid the seats!

Well, Tony, you did a great job! I’m thrilled that you got her. She’s in good, loving hands. Hopefully she’ll like the wife as well! Congratulations!

Just Married!
