Flickr stuff!

Hey hey!

Any of you fine folks have a Flickr account? I’ve had one for awhile and I think I’ll be using it more now. When I’m blogging on my trip, I’ll be uploading all of my photos to Flickr. Oh yes.

My account.

I’ve got a bunch of pictures on it already and I’m in a few groups, including a devotee one.

You can check out what I have up so far. Feel free to add me, etc.

I have also added a bunch of the photos to the map section. You can see where I’ve been! Lucky you!

[sideways scroll the pics to see all 90 some of them]

Take a look and feel free to share.

    Ditto. Gotta love Flikr.

Though that picture of the dino in front of the window really bugs me. Actually, it’s that window. There is just something oh so wrong about the geometry of the window and that really bugs me. I feel like pulling out my ruler and t-square and then beating the builder over the head with them.

There, I vented. I can go eat my feta pizza now in peace.

Now, I can see some logic in the design when it comes to shedding off water or snow but geez, that is in the desert.

Oh I think it’s mostly for kitsch value. :)

Yup, I agree with you there. I was trying to justify the design by it being akin to what a window torn into the side of a wigwam would look like but I abandoned that as being a case of over thinking the matter.

Funny, but one of the roadtrips I want to take is to the Tee Pee Motel in Wharton. They don’t look nearly as nice as those. Plus, they have one of the ugliest sites I’ve seen in a decade. http://www.teepeemotel.net/ Still, it’s all original and over 60 years old. They built them in WW2 and used a lot of stucco/adobe to make up for the lack of wood available then. And the builder owned a lumber yard himself. Geez. Talk about a shortage.
