Three Stooges: Messengers, Linux and Scoot.

Ok, if anyone ever suggests to you, “hey, let’s go see The Messengers, it looks pretty good,” slap them.

Saw it tonight with Nikki. Bad. Horrible. And not even fun horrible. Not laughable. Just crap. It’s about dead people in a house trying to warn them about … something. But, while there are dead people, there is no warning. Just quick “scary” shots of them trying to grab you. Oh yeah, that’s good cinema.

The cinematography was good though, I’ll give it that.

In other news, I’m very seriously considering switching to Linux. Specifically Ubuntu. I’m going to be getting a laptop (thanks, Visa!) and installing it there in place of Windows. On my main desktop, I’ll duel boot, with the choice of either Ubuntu or Windows. There are a few programs that I use regularly that can’t replicated very well in Linux. They are DVD copying software and Microsoft Publisher.

With Publisher, I can do most of that on the photoshop look-a-likes. Pixel, for example. But the DVD software.. it’s clunky to say the least. Even getting them to work in Wine (a program that allows Windows based programs to function within Linux) is clunky. But I won’t know until I try, so I’ll duel boot. But basically, Linux seems to be a great system for anyone who doesn’t do the whole DVD copying thing. Go figure.
In slightly less geeky news, I gots myself a new carb for the scooter. New reeds are coming soon. And I’ll be adding that air scoop and THEN I’ll finally be finished with the Stella (yeah right).
I’ll probably start work on that this weekend. I’ll also end up over at my parents’ house to assemble the AllState. A lot of projects. Too many.
