Update on the scooters…

I bet you were just sitting around thinking, “Hmmm, I wonder how Eric’s doing on the scooters…” Well wonder no more.

The Allstate was supposed to go to the paint shop on Saturday, but when I called down, he didn’t want it till Sunday the 28th. That’s fine and gives me more time to get replacement parts in.

See, this has turned from a paint job into a full restoration (minus the engine, which already was replaced). I’m getting new floor rails, taillight, grips, seat cover, fender crest, a few gaskets and cables. A few other things too, I’m sure. They should be coming in this week sometime. Maybe early next week. All paid for with Ebay money.

So, because I couldn’t get the AllState into the paint shop, I took my glovebox cowl for the Stella into another paint shop (that uses the same paint as is originally on the Stella). That should be done tomorrow. But we’ll see… I’ll be installing that this weekend. If it’s too cold, I’m going to throw a tarp down in the kitchen and wheel the scooter in there. Fun!

I haven’t ridden the damn thing since I installed the new pipe. Too cold and snowing on and off (though thankfully not laying). I was going to today, it’s up to 30 degrees, but there’s a small snowstorm coming. Maybe tomorrow. I’m really really sick of winter. It’s sad.
