Past two days. (Power Ballads, Old Friend and family)

The past two or three days have been pretty hectic. The store is ridiculously busy, but I think this year, I’m basically breaking even. Maybe not quite.

Friday night was pretty cool though. There was a spontaneous acoustic 80’s power ballad sing-a-long at my store. My friend Jason brought is guitar and we sang all the hits of my sad little high school career. It was awesome!

We covered tons of material. From “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” to “18 and Life.” Guns & Roses to Aerosmith. It was a very very fun time.

After that, I had to run to Freeburg (about a billion miles away) to pick up my friend Cole who is in from California… I mean Tennessee. She just moved from California to live in that wonderful little state. She’s hoping to move back soon. But it was great to see her. We watched MST3K and ate clementines.

What a great night!

Yesterday was warmmmmmm. Take THAT old man winter!! Cole and I did some shopping downtown and then I took her home.

My son, Michael then came by. He’s up from Floriduh. And we did the family (well… sort of extended family) thing. And then came home.

Nikki stole my scissors, leaving them “..um… at someone’s house” so I had a bitch of a time wrapping presents using only paper grocery bags and a pearing knife and tape. But everything that is wrappable is wraped.

Today is more family stuff and then probably settling down to do not much at all in the evening. Though, that’s hard to say.

Maybe buying a bug?

Well this is an idea that I’ve been thinking about on and off for a bit. If I sell the bus, I could use the money to buy a bug. Bugs on the west coast are MUCH cheaper than bugs on the east coast (and usually better quality too).

I found this bug today:

Cheap, no? Yup.
Victorville is on Route 66. It’s pretty close to the bottleforest.

Anyway, it would be fun to fly out, buy a bug (obviously not this one, though it would be pretty cool, huh?) and drive it back, taking 66 the whole way.

If I move west, though I’ll be closer to much of 66, I wont have the chance to take it from start to finish like I do now.

It would kind of be a good-bye. And just something that would be fun to do.

Maybe in March or April. Hmmm….
